Anyone know of any new Christmas party games to play?
Are there any new Christmas party games around. Something to use as ice breakers or mixers for Christmas parties?

Barbara B:  The minister's cat - an alphabet game whereby the players describe the minister's cat as an "awful" cat, the minister's cat is an "alert" cat, the minister's cat is an "alive" cat - and so on until someone falters. That person is "out" and the players resume with the minister's cat being something with the letter B - and so on. Every description is started with the phrase, "the minister's cat is a/an _A-B-C-etc___ cat" What's in my pocket - each guest gets a card with an object described on it - paperclip, hair brush, bud vase - or what have you.. People are given 20 yes/no questions to describe the item. Variants - famous people, famous places etc. etc.

tehabwa:  Why does it have to be new? There's the dictionary game. One person finds a word that no one knows. That person writes the definition on a slip of paper. Then everyone makes up a definition. The leader of the round (who found the word, and also made up a definition) reads each definition. Each person says what they think was the real definition. If they're right, they get 2 points. If they're wrong, the person whose definition they picked gets a point. Rotate the leadership for each round. There's also the old stand-by, charades.

Some of the games especially Sandys Christmas Carol game can be adjusted for nearly any age 8 and up. For parties mixers like this work because they give folks something to do while they get warmed up to each other. if they want to talk, they can talk, but if conversatrion lags games like these take up the awkward silences that many of us dread. Whats nice is that people don't all have to be in it to enjoy it. Some can just help out if asked or enjoy the groans of the answer section. If links work in the answer blocks here's the link http://www.bowtieproducts.com/Christmas_party_games_and_puzzles.htm there is also some party giving advice you may enjoy. My wife and I made up the puzzles and many people really enjoy them. I hope they work out well for you John Griffin
