Christmas Ideas?

Christmas Ideas?
I have two children, a five year old boy and a 3 week old girl. What are some christmas gift ideas for them? Me and my husband are stumped. Our son loves sports, esspessially soccer, hockey, backetball and baseball. He already has most of the sports equipment though. He also likes bob the builder and diego. Our daughter is to young to tell what she likes, but she has huge sparkling brown eyes, and brown hair with slightly tanned skin. She loves when we read to her, and she absoulty loves to laugh, her laugh is very contagious. Any ideas? God Bless.

FaZizzle:  1) Try building blocks. Does he like to cook with you? If so, try his own cooking set. Does he like to just play outside? If so, try some dump trucks and/or a sand box. 2) For your daughter, skip the big stuff. You'll have time next year. This year she'll sleep through Christmas most likely. Get her a few books, but I wouldn't worry too much about her.

crazychica:  Your question sounds good, however... There is absolutely no way that your 3 week old is laughing, they don't even smile until at least 1 month. You're weird.

Person:  Instead of a bunch of stupid toys that they migth lose or end up throwing away, take them for 2 overnights at a hotel/ indoor waterpark, its cheaper during the week. My mom would do that we weren't so old.

krodriguez1976:  For the Five year old. Try to purchase something from his favorite movie or TV show. When I was that age I was ask to make a list for santa. That should help. For the little girl. The leap frog brand of toys are great and educational. I had purchased some for all the small childern in my family and they loved it.

sugarcookie:  Well, I don't have any ideas for what to get them, but I have an idea of one they can give to others. Get pine cones, coat them in peanut butter (or suet if they can't do peanut butter) and roll them in out of the shell birdseed. We do it every year, and its one the grandparents love to display because their functional. Sorry I don't know what to give them... I've been trying to look into getting my 5 year old games for the whole family to play.. so far Twister is the best, Cranium is fantastic soon as they can read.

Chestersmom:  The 3 week old doesn't need much ...buy some new fun books for the family to enjoy.... and your son ...a soccer net for the yard . Whatever you do ...don't buy anything made in China .....be/c it's bound to be recalled! Stick w/ American Made Toys and make sure your children's toys are safe.

crissygirly:  You have lots of ideas for the 5 year old boy.... but here is a perfect one for the baby girl. It is a link to a baby's first photo album. It would take a little time to find the pictures but she will be into it in no time. My girls just LOVE pictures of friends and family. http://www.geniusbabies.com/baby-s-my-first-photo-album-family-n-friends1.html

jyq23:  For your 5 year old: I would definitely get him things like Play-Doh and fingerpaints (Crayola washable). I think its just all too common for parents now days to not let their kids do fun things kids should have good times doing. I always wanted to do stuff like this when I was a kid and half the time wasn't allowed to because of the mess clean up. Now that I have a daughter of my own. We do stuff like this all the time! Fingerpainting is the best. You can also get plaster and paints, and make your own little gifts like handprints for grandparents gifts etc.
