Delicious Pear:  (I'm assuming you teach in a secular school and not something like a Catholic school or Hebrew Academy here...) Why don't you teach the kids about all the different religions winter holidays (Yule, Solstice, Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, etc) and have them all make decorations for the door about all of them?

jabberwocky_x:  Unless it's a private school, you probably can't have Christmas-specific decorations. How about having the kids make snowflakes (fold a square piece of paper three times into a triangle, and cut holes out to make a snowflake-like pattern when unfolded.)?
