Variations to playing the White Elephant Exchange game? Instead of numbers?
We have done the number thing. We have done the left right write thing. Anybody can recommend different ways to play the white elephant gift exchange .. a fun, fresher newer way?

glittergirl:  Have you drawn names in advance? My family does this. Another thing you could try would be to hide the gifts somewhere around the house, kind of like an Easter Egg Hunt. Everyone gathers in one room of the house, and one by one each person leaves and "hides" their gift in another room of the house. Then, draw numbers. For example, the person that draws first gets to "search" for a gift first. They come back, and then the second person searches, etc. Not only is there fun in finding out what the gift is, but more importantly WHERE the gift is, especially the further along you get. How fun would it be for it to be the very last person's turn to find a gift, and they can't find one?! LOL

itsallgood:  Our Bunko group used to read "Twas the Night Before Christmas" (one person reads) Everytime you hear the word "the", you pass the gift to your right. At the end of the story, you open the gift in your lap.
