What kind of presents do you buy for a yankee swap Christmas game?
We are having a Christmas party and I'm not sure what kind of gifts to buy for the Christmas game. It has lots of different names, but I just saw it called the yankee swap. Its where you stack the gifts up, let people draw numbers, then first person picks a gift, opens it. Then the second person can steal or get a new gift.....etc. So back to the question. There will be a variety of different people at my home, with lots of different interests. So, help me with some great gift ideas that will make lots of fun stealing all night! Thanks!

CH ;):  We do something similar to that. The best gift I have seen has been a Hershey's Smores gift set. It had a bunch of Smore's stuff in it and it was super cute. Everyone wanted that one. I'd just go to the gift set aisle and pick something from there that was basically food....everyone likes food.

eek:  We call it a White Christmas Elephant. I usually take a gift that I have never used. Last year I re-gifted some pictures frames; candy can be a big hit; believe it or not a ghastly vase was the hit of the party year before last.

Melissa:  We do this every year with my friends and then for the family. Gifts that always go over well are booze (of coarse), scratch off lotto tickets, a gift card to a favorite restaurant (usually Olive Garden or Texas Roadhouse), or a movie bucket that includes popcorn candy and a gift certificate to rent a couple of movies. Edit: One year I received a digital tire pressure checker thingy. Yeah....nobody wanted to steal that gift from me. So, I would suggest NOT to get that. :) Also, Christmas decorations go over well. Like the nice nutcrackers, or inflatable yard decorations, even stuff for the tree. Usually they set a "limit" of what you are supposed to spend so go from there! Have fun!
