Mrs.:  I bought a scarf and glove set at Target for our swap this year. My husband likes to be creative and bought a metal lobster decoration for wall. (It would look nice if you lived at beach) Last year I wrapped up a bottle of wine and scratch tickets they were both a hit. But the scratch tickets won and I was a bit sad it wasnt mine. :) soaps or candels work well. Anything works depending on crowd. An ice scrapper, car air freshners. Candy. A six pack of beer. be creative, have fun. no one has to know it was the gist you brought. Once someone thought it was funny to wrap Victoria Secret undies. They never admitted who brought them but I was glad to win.
